Welcome to the website of The Rhode Island Chapter of The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners
We offer quarterly educational seminars focused on fraud detection and prevention and related topics. We also promote fraud education through our annual scholarship (see below for the scholarship application). With its diverse professional membership, RICFE provides an excellent environment for networking opportunities. If you would like to join us, we have the following events scheduled: Our Next Meeting Will Be Held: WHEN: Monday June 4, 2012, 8:30am to 11:30am (Registration and breakfast beginning at 8am) WHERE: Chelo's, 2225 Post Road, Warwick WHAT: Breakfast and seminar on Criminology WHO: Dr. Heath “Hank” Brightman, Research Professor in the Center for Naval Warfare Studies, War Gaming Department of the United States Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. Dr. Hank J. Brightman will provide an overview of Criminological theory, including origins and major schools of thought, emphasizing the predominant theories related to white collar criminality (e.g., Sutherland, Cressey, Edlehertz) as well as some of the more contemporary theories from Ermann & Lundman, Gross, and (of course) Joe Wells. COST: Members--$25 Students-- $10 All others--$35

This program has been approved for 3 CPE credits for attendees. Deadline for registration: Friday May 25th, 2012. NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE. PLEASE NOTE THE EARLIER REGISTRATION DEADLINE DUE TO THE MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY. REFUND POLICY: The ACFE RI Chapter strives to provide quality training to its membership at a low cost. As such, we must provide accurate expected attendance accounts to the facility at the registration deadline. No-shows after this date adversely impact our expenses. Our no-show and refund policies are as follows:
* Refunds will be given up through 5pm on the day of the close of registration. No refunds will be given after this time. In the event you are unable to attend, however, you may substitute someone else from your organization. If the substitute is a non-member, they must pay the non-member rate differential, if applicable. * If you have registered, but not paid, and do not show for the event, you will be prohibited from registering for future events until a no-show fee of $20 for half day seminars and $75 for full day seminars is paid.
