Congratulations to Martha McVeigh Martha R. McVeigh, CFE, was one of two Certified Fraud Examiners elected to the 2009-2010 ACFE Board of Regents. ACFE President Jim Ratley informed Martha of the election results earlier this month. The Board of Regents is elected by the certified members of ACFE and is responsible for setting membership standards that promote professionalism and ensure the future of the organization as a whole. The Board of Regents has sole authority over the admission of members, including but not limited to examination standards. The Board establishes continuing professional education requirements, and is also responsible for establishing, modifying and enforcing the CFE Code of Professional Ethics and all other matters necessary to maintain the high standards of the ACFE. Any Certified Fraud Examiner in good standing may apply for a position on the Board of Regents. Elections are held annually to fill vacant positions. All Regents elected shall serve two-year terms and hold office until their successors are duly elected. A Regent may serve only one term, and is not eligible for re-election. Martha will travel to ACFE headquarters in Austin, Texas, in February, for the official swearing-in ceremonies and meetings. |
