Purpose:
The Rhode Island Chapter #33 of the Association of Certified Fraud
Examiners is a not-for-profit entity organized for the primary purpose
of promotion of fraud deterrence and detection, and the fostering of
skills in the disciplines of accounting, auditing, criminology, investigation,
law, and ethics.
Mission:
The Mission of the Chapter is to promote the education of individuals
for the improvement and development of their capabilities relating to
the investigation of potential fraud and illegal acts, auditing of and
management consulting in the fields of fraud detection, auditing, and
investigations, through the expansion of knowledge and the interaction
of its members.
About the Rhode Island Chapter:
The Rhode Island Chapter of the ACFE was formed in late1991 and is
one of more than 100 ACFE chapters located in 125 countries around
the world. The Rhode Island Chapter membership consists of over 100 Certified Fraud Examiners and Associate
Members, 35 Affiliate Members and 15 Student Members. Chapter meetings
are held quarterly.
The Association is a multi-faceted organization consisting of
Investigators, Law Enforcement, Certified Public Accountants, Auditors,
Loss Prevention Personnel, Attorneys and related Security Professionals.
It is dedicated to fighting fraud and white-collar crime by presenting
programs and seminars designed to assist in the detection and prevention
of fraudulent conduct. In addition, the Rhode Island Chapter, with its
diverse professional membership, provides an excellent environment for
networking opportunities.
